Payroll Implementation & Compliance Specialist, a 12-month fixed-term role at Lactalis Australia. This position focuses on the successful implementation of new HRIS and workforce management systems, contributing to payroll system and process improvements, ensuring legislative compliance, and supporting payroll-related projects. Combines specialist payroll expertise with project delivery to meet BAU payroll activities and key project milestones to a high standard.
Location: South Brisbane with consideration for candidates in Victoria and New South Wales. Flexible working options available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities- System Process Improvements: Act as payroll subject matter expert in the implementation of SuccessFactors HRIS, working with the project team to ensure integration with SAP Payroll.
- Lead user acceptance testing, data migration and user training for the HRIS implementation.
- Participate in system design, configuration and testing to ensure payroll compliance and accuracy for the implementation of the time and attendance system.
- Recommend enhancements to workflows and automation to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure new processes and systems embed compliance.
- Compliance: Provide payroll subject matter expertise to complex compliance and process improvement projects.
- Support the development of improved governance, controls, and reporting frameworks.
- Work with stakeholders to identify and resolve system or process gaps impacting payroll.
- BAU Payroll Support: Assist in data validation, reporting, and reconciliation tasks to support ongoing payroll accuracy.
- Contribute to BAU payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with legislation, awards, Lactalis enterprise agreements and Lactalis policies.
- Support the design, configuration and testing of new time & attendance system, ensuring compliance with awards, enterprise agreements and payroll accuracy.
The Payroll Implementation & Compliance Specialist role requires leadership, technical expertise, and strategic thinking. Candidates must have:
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in Payroll, HR, or Industrial Relations.
- End-to-end payroll processing expertise, recent involvement in payroll system implementation or integration projects, and a strong understanding of Australian industrial relations, including modern awards, enterprise agreements, taxation, and superannuation legislation.
- A Diploma in Payroll, HR, or Law is preferred, though equivalent industry experience is acceptable.
- Proficiency in SAP and SuccessFactors is highly regarded, along with demonstrated capabilities in user acceptance testing (UAT), data migration validation, and payroll reporting.
- The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a continuous improvement mindset, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a project environment in the next 12 months.
