We are looking for a Microsoft Purview Technical Consultant to design, implement, and optimise data governance solutions for leading organisations through our client. If you have strong technical expertise in Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365, data security and governance this is your opportunity to work on high-impact end-to-end projects with a team of Microsoft Certified Engineers, Architects, and Experts.

Our client is a leading Australian IT consulting firm headquartered in Sydney. They specialise in Microsoft Cloud solutions, offering services such as Microsoft 365 consulting, Azure Cloud deployments, and managed IT services. They have a team of specialized experts collaborating with clients to deliver tailored technology solutions.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Architect & Implement – Design and deploy Microsoft Purview solutions, ensuring seamless data classification, retention, and compliance.
  • Automate & Optimise – Develop automation workflows using PowerShell, Python, or APIs to streamline governance processes.
  • Integrate Security & Compliance – Align Purview with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, Entra ID (Azure AD), and Microsoft Information Protection (MIP) to enhance security postures.
  • Monitor & Enhance – Conduct risk assessments, compliance audits, and ongoing optimization of Purview policies and configurations.
  • Advise & Educate – Work closely with clients to define data security strategies and provide guidance on best practices.
Technical Skills & Experience
  • Hands-on experience with data classification, sensitivity labeling, insider risk management, and retention policies.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Purview, Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance, and Azure governance tools.
  • Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or automation tools for scripting and policy enforcement.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Information Protection (MIP), DLP (Data Loss Prevention), and Zero Trust security models.
  • Familiarity with industry compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST, Essential Eight, etc.).
  • Experience with SIEM/SOAR platforms, identity governance, and security operations is a plus.
