We are currently seeking an experienced and professional Claims Specialist with a proven track record in managing Property/Strata claims. This is a 12 month fixed term contract role available (with very strong potential to be made permanent). The role sits within the Longitude Insurance Claims Team, supporting the Longitude Insurance agency. The workload is constant and the ability to work accurately and manage multiple stakeholders whilst under pressure is a prerequisite of this position. Previous experience in an underwriting agency environment is desirable.

As the business has seen strong growth over the past few years, we are looking to expand the size of the claims team.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide a professional claims handling service to clients designed to provide solutions, achieve best possible cost outcomes and claims experience and enhance the client/broker/insurer relationship.
  • Manage an end-to-end portfolio of Strata Property claims within a delegated level of authority.
  • Respond to claim notifications and service enquiries within internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with customers, internal and external parties to coordinate claim resolution.
  • Ensure professional conduct is maintained at all times to positively promote the Company and insurance industry.

The successful applicant will have:

We are seeking someone who has two or more years of property claims experience and possesses the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.

Additionally, someone who has the following skillset would excel in this role:

  • Knowledge of State/Territory specific legislation as it applies to insurance related matters.
  • Literacy in technology and systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A Certificate III in General Insurance or equivalent is desirable.
