Skills required:

  • Analyze and update all app policies on boarded to the existing environment of Akamai App & API Protector (formerly known as KONA). Review policy sets to ensure there are no gaps that may leave client vulnerable to another DDOS attack. Understand if there are any other capability augmentations that need consideration.
  • Review and work with the App team to cache state web page elements for CDN usage.
  • Analyse and update all WAF rules separately from the activity listed in point 1.
  • Client currently has a good internal bench of Akamai App and API Protector experts. This staff augmentation will help boost the current team and bring best practice ideas to help reduce/avoid future DDOS attacks.

A successful candidate will be capable of:

  • Deploying software to RHEL & Windows based systems using automation tools whilst having the ability to troubleshoot common software installation failures at network, operating system or application levels.
  • Advising on and communicating software development and web application security principles, including the OWASP Top 10.
  • Work collaboratively with application and project teams and developers.
  • Assessing and conveying cybersecurity risks.

We highly value experience in any of the following areas:

  • Utilizing DevOps and scripting tools (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo, Git, Maven, Artifactory, Bash, PowerShell, Python).
  • Understanding enterprise risk, governance, and compliance.
  • Creating and leading security education and awareness initiatives for developers and application teams.
  • Experience with Web Application Firewalls (WAFs), IAST, DAST, Container Security, Software Composition Analysis, threat modelling, and the analysis and reporting of application security metrics.
