We are seeking an experienced Anaesthetist with a passion for leadership, collaboration and delivering exceptional patient care.

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated and skilled Co-Director of Anaesthesia to join a well-regarded healthcare facility located in a beautiful regional area of South Australia. This role combines clinical expertise with strategic leadership offering you the chance to make a meaningful impact within a supportive and forward-thinking team.

As the Co-Director you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality anaesthetic services while working closely with an experienced multidisciplinary team. You'll collaborate with hospital executives nursing staff and other medical professionals to lead clinical governance implement innovative practices and inspire a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert anaesthetic services to a diverse range of patients in the hospital setting
  • Lead and manage a team of anaesthetic professionals fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
  • Oversee the quality safety and efficiency of clinical services ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and policies
  • Play a key role in mentoring and supporting junior colleagues contributing to education training and professional development
  • Actively engage in strategic planning and decision-making to improve service delivery and patient outcomes
  • Work closely with hospital leadership to implement and monitor quality management initiatives
  • Promote patient-centered care by involving patients and families in treatment decisions and maintaining clear communication
About You:

Essential Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists FANZCA
  • Registrable as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia or hold a qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award
  • Demonstrated high level of negotiation and communication skills
  • Proven ability to solve complex problems and make sound decisions in both clinical and individual contexts
  • A commitment to quality management principles and shared responsibility
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient and family involvement in care
  • A strong ability to adapt and respond positively to change
  • Proven dedication to the education and training of junior colleagues
