We are seeking a dedicated and passionate professional to join our team as an Early Childhood Practitioner. As a key member of our service, you will play a vital role in delivering the NDIS Early Childhood Approach (ECA) service to local communities.
About NorthcottNorthcott is an Early Childhood partner contracted to deliver the NDIS ECA service to local communities in Northern NSW, Mid North Coast, Hunter New England, Northern Sydney, and Western Sydney. Our EC approach supports children aged 0-9 with developmental concerns, delays, or disabilities.
Key Responsibilities- Conducting observations and using information from screening tools and/or assessments to understand the impact of the delay or disability on the child's development.
- Identifying and explaining the most appropriate pathway of supports, whether this be access to early supports or support with applying for the NDIS.
- Supporting families to connect with local mainstream and community services such as community or child health services, playgroups, childcare, parent support groups, education options, and recreation.
- Working with the family to identify their goals and priorities for their child.
- Supporting the family with implementing their child's NDIS plan and finding service providers that meet the needs of the child and family.
- A minimum Diploma tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor Degree in Social Work, Allied Health, or other relevant professional field.
- An understanding of the importance of implementing a tailored and personalised approach to children and their families in delivering the early childhood approach.
- Moderate report writing and IT skills, including database management, as you will write reports and provide details to the NDIA on a child's developmental and functional abilities.
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
- Experience providing support to families using a family-focused and strengths-based approach.
- Demonstrated experience supporting and implementing evidence-based early childhood intervention strategies with families using a capacity-building approach.
- A current Driver's Licence - P1 minimum.
- A Valid Working with Children's Check Clearance - mandatory.
- A Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check (NDIS WC) or willingness to obtain – mandatory.
