Overview

Rehabilitation Consultant - Reg Psych/Rehab Counsellor at IPAR in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia.

IPAR is a national occupational rehabilitation provider supporting people living with illness, disability, or injury. We offer workplace rehabilitation, counselling, injury prevention and employment support, with a team that includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Psychologists and Rehabilitation Counsellors. IPAR is part of the MedHealth network.

Responsibilities
  • Case management with a manageable caseload and support from Rehabilitation Assistants to alleviate administrative tasks.
  • Apply clinical knowledge to improve return to work outcomes.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention and workplace education programs with employers and employees.
  • Collaborate with injured workers, employers, medical and allied health professionals.
  • Work across schemes such as workers compensation, CTP, life insurance, Comcare, Department of Veterans' Affairs, and employer-funded programs.
  • Assist clients to achieve return to health and return to work outcomes.
  • Complete a variety of assessments (initial, workplace, vocational) to review diagnosis, support treatment plans, address psychosocial barriers, and identify suitable employment opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Health Sciences or Rehabilitation Counselling.
  • General or Provisional registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist or eligibility for ASORC membership.
  • Previous experience in Occupational Rehabilitation preferred.
  • Excellent communication, empathy and time management skills.
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence with access to own car and comprehensive insurance.
