Leeming Primary School (PS), located in Leeming, opened in 1982, with a current enrolment of approximately 370 students. Our Values of Respect, Integrity and Excellence are an important part of our school and support the development of a positive school culture. Our school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. We are looking for team members who value developing positive relationships, have current understandings of the Department of Education's direction in education and actively engage in collaboration with all teachers throughout the school.
The School
The RoleWe are actively seeking primary teachers with exceptional interpersonal skills, to engage with and foster genuine relationships with parents, carers, students, and colleagues. As a primary teacher you would promptly establish a positive and inclusive classroom environment, set high expectations and cultivate a growth mindset, while nurturing students\' social and emotional development putting student learning and wellbeing at the centre of your work. Ideally you will exhibit exemplary teaching skills, with experience of being part of a collaborative and professional learning community and thrive as part of a team. Our focus is on developing the capacity of our team, to excel in an environment characterised by whole-school connected practice, collaborative team structures, and a commitment to ongoing professional growth through collaboration and sharing of expertise, supporting our focus on the development of collective efficacy.
Applicants will ideally possess the skills to use the assess, plan, teach cycle effectively, use data to drive their practice and differentiate the curriculum to meet the needs of a wide range of abilities providing a quality differentiated teaching and learning program to meet the needs of all students. In addition to this, being fully conversant with the Department of Education's Quality Teaching Strategy and Teaching for Impact statement is highly valued.
Eligibility and Requirements- hold an eligible teacher qualification and registration
- be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment
- apply for a WA Working with Children Check before you start
- consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start
