Lead Databricks Developer, Brisbane Based, Financial Services – Randstad Australia

Join to apply for the role at Randstad Australia. This position is for a lead Databricks developer based in Brisbane, focusing on designing, building, and implementing data solutions on the Databricks Lakehouse Platform.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of data engineers, providing technical guidance and mentorship, establishing best practices for coding, performance, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Design and architect end-to-end data pipelines (ETL/ELT).
  • Develop and optimize data solutions to ensure peak performance and data quality.
  • Ensure security and governance with robust data validation, cleansing, and security controls, including Databricks Unity Catalog.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment to translate business needs into data solutions.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical lead or senior Databricks-focused role.
  • Expert proficiency in Python and SQL, strong knowledge of the Apache Spark ecosystem, and extensive experience with a major cloud platform (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to lead a team and work with stakeholders.
