The Queensland Revenue Office is seeking to fill multiple permanent AO4 Revenue Officer roles in Brisbane.

In the Payroll Tax and Betting Tax division, you will work in a collaborative team environment to support our clients to register, assess and make amendments to their accounts, to ensure compliance with Queensland's revenue laws.

Multiple vacancies currently exist within the Payroll Tax, Mental Health Levy and Betting Tax division (Operations Team), who is responsible for supporting our clients to register, assess and make amendments to their accounts, to ensure compliance with Queensland's revenue laws.

As a Revenue Officer, you will analyse, interpret, and apply relevant legislation and policy on revenue and taxation matters, following approved procedures; respond to technical enquiries; exercise delegations and deliver excellent service to our clients.

Your Typical Day As a Revenue Officer May Include:

  • Registering and assessing clients.
  • Assist the team leader in supporting and coaching team members to ensure a client-centric approach.
  • Analyse, interpret, and apply relevant legislation and policy.
  • Answering client phone calls and responding to technical enquiries, ensuring a positive client experience.

You will be supported by a positive, constructive team and divisional leaders as you do your work.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • High level interpersonal skills and strong client focus.
  • Ability to build a working knowledge of digital and data technology/systems.
  • Experience in contributing towards team outcomes.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation and/or policy or the ability to rapidly acquire this capability.

Having an agile work style, high work ethic, while being a constructive and inclusive member of the team, are essential qualities we are seeking within candidates for this role.

There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications are highly regarded (e.g. law, business or accounting).

This position is based in our Brisbane office and flexible work options may be requested. Please note that the successful candidate will be required to work in office for the first 3 months while learning the role.
