THE ROLE
The Senior Manager: Information Technology leads five key teams responsible for ICT Service Delivery, ICT Service Solutions, Digital Projects, Information Management and Governance. This leadership role plays a vital part in driving operational efficiency, ensuring business continuity and supporting strategic growth. The role demands strong team leadership and effective relationship building with both internal and external stakeholders to meet the evolving technological and governance needs of the council.

With a focus on digital transformation, the successful candidate will oversee the renewal and optimisation of technology systems, ensure cybersecurity and manage the successful delivery of digital projects aligned with strategic goals. The role is also responsible for maintaining secure and compliant records management systems and ensuring the integrity of Council's governance frameworks, supporting transparency, accountability and stakeholder confidence in Council operations.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Lead, manage and develop the IT team to ensure high performance, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement

Contribute to the development, execution and ongoing review of the Council's IT roadmap, ensuring alignment with broader organisational goals

Oversee the planning, renewal, and timely upgrade of technological assets to ensure the Council's IT infrastructure remains modern, secure and efficient

Lead the development and implementation of cybersecurity strategies to safeguard the organisation's information and systems against internal and external threats

Manage and oversee the delivery of digital and business transformation projects, ensuring they meet business needs and are completed on time, within budget and to agreed quality standards

Oversee the ongoing maintenance, support and optimisation of organisational software systems, ensuring they meet operational needs and are kept up-to-date

Develop, implement and manage a comprehensive and contemporary records management strategy that ensures the Council's information is accurately captured, stored and maintained throughout its lifecycle

ICT related tertiary qualifications

Strong communication and leadership capability

Contemporary knowledge on relevant industry standards/ICT best practice trends
