Respiratory and Sleep Physician

Employer: Hunter Respiratory & Sleep Centre. Closing Date: 28 October 2025. Location: East Maitland, approximately 30 minutes from Newcastle and 2 hours from Sydney. The private practice is in the Hunter Region with six senior specialists working five days a week, offering three consulting rooms, two full lung function laboratories, six overnight sleep bedrooms, a CPAP service, and access to the latest sleep and respiratory equipment. You will receive full secretarial support and new referrals to help maintain a lucrative and financially sound day, with you retaining the full amount of your billings after a reasonable facility fee is deducted. The practice values strong relationships with referrers and provides high-quality results from the service.

To provide high-quality diagnostic and consultative services in respiratory and sleep medicine in a busy outpatient clinic. You will be required to maintain a high standard of professional performance.

• Provide high-quality diagnostic and consultative services in respiratory and sleep medicine in a busy outpatient clinic.
• Ensure a high standard of professional performance and patient care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including 13 medical technicians, administration and management staff, and other specialists.
• Utilize the Respiratory Function Testing Lab and Sleep Medicine facilities as part of patient assessment and management.
• Contribute to the ongoing growth and development of the practice.

• Registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a specialist in respiratory and sleep medicine.
• FRAACP and APHRA registration.
• Appropriate and adequate professional indemnity cover.
• Demonstrated contemporary clinical knowledge and technical expertise in respiratory and sleep medicine (or respiratory medicine).
• Ability to work as part of a team with effective communication and interpersonal skills; adaptability to a multidisciplinary environment.
• Strong communication skills, motivation, initiative, time management, and commitment to professional development.

You will retain the full amount of your billings with a reasonable facility fee deducted.
