Job role- Senior Data Engineer

Job Type- Contract

Role – Key responsibilities

• Deliver cloud platform capabilities for business delivery streams.

• Collaborate with architects, business analysts, engineers, product managers and other business

representatives to understand business plans and requirements and translate them to technical

designs and implementation

• Design and deliver secure & robust platforms with a service based approach to delivery 24/7

availability and high performance

• Engineer tooling and design patterns that support observability and alerting.

About you

• Strong hands on experience in Google Cloud Platform(GCP)

• Solid technical expertise to manage, manipulate and automate complex data feeds, analytical

data marts and new database solutions (i.e. BigQuery, Python, SQL etc)

• Strong experience with Google Big Data platforms and associated tools such as BigQuery,

DataFlow, DataProc, PubSub and AirFlow

• Strong DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code mentality with hands-on experience in Terraform.

• Good understanding of data engineering patterns, including NRT time, synchronous data

integration, event messaging, pub/sub and Kafka models, and legacy patterns such as SFTP

• Cloud monitoring tools include Prometheus, Grafana, Appinsight and Dynatrace etc.

• Automation and software tooling, software management and branching etc.

• Experience building visualizations in either Looker/Tableau

• Strong data & analytics experience is highly desirable.

• 10 years experience within the IT Industry/retail services or in technology delivery

• 5+ years experience in Software Engineering

Desired Skills & Experience:

• Experience in the payments, retail or ecommerce industry

• Experience with MLOps is an added advantage

• Experience working in a PCI-DSS compliant environment Key Behaviours

• Able to demonstrate strong & proactive thought leadership to deliver best practices in a cloudenvironment

• The ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders

• Ability to stay calm in challenging circumstances and work through problems methodically.

• Work transparently and balance various stakeholder interests

• Listen, learn and talk with openness and honesty

• Engages and gains confidence of stakeholders
