The Team:
The Budget Development and Advice team plays a pivotal role in supporting the Department of Health's financial management and strategic planning. The team:
- Leads the development of the Department's budget, ensuring alignment with government priorities and internal planning frameworks.
- Provides consolidated financial reporting and analysis to the Executive, offering insights into the Agency's overall financial position.
- Supports corporate and policy areas by delivering financial advice and analytical support to inform decision-making and resource allocation.
The Role:
The Senior Business Analyst assists the relevant Manager in the review and monitoring of the Department of Health's (DoH) performance in relation to budgetary and financial targets, including:
- The coordination, review and analysis of information as part of the annual Budget development process, including liaison with a wide range of employees throughout the DoH.
- The review and ongoing maintenance and management of budget management/financial systems and data.
- The coordination and preparation of regular and ad-hoc reports, correspondence and advice to senior management and liaison with a wide range of employees throughout DoH.
You will need to:
- Assist in the coordination, review and analysis of information as part of the annual Budget development process.
- Undertake review projects and other research and analysis in relation to budgetary and financial management matters.
- Assist in the maintenance and ongoing administration of budgetary and financial management systems.

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $107,899 to $122,292 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.

Eligibility:
Applicants should note the following criteria are desirable:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, together with membership of, or progression towards, either CPA Australia or the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.
