Your role
Join the Reform Reporting team as a motivated Senior Data and Reporting Analyst and contribute your skills, expertise, and knowledge in a dynamic and evolving reporting environment. This role sits within the Child and Family directorate, within the Department of Communities and Justice's System Reform Division.
As a member of the team, you will play a key role in the centralised monitoring and reporting of out-of-home care reform and child and family initiatives. You will also provide targeted project management advice to ensure a standardised approach to program and project design and delivery across Child and Family.
Your work will directly enable informed decision-making, demonstrate accountability, and support meaningful improvements for children and young people.
What You'll Do
As a Senior Data and Reporting Analyst, you will:
- Support the design and implementation of a Reform Reporting Framework, turning raw data into clear, visual stories through impactful dashboards and robust data management.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders to develop insightful reports and visualisations that measure the real impact of our reform projects, leveraging advanced analytical techniques.
- Utilise your analytical toolkit to cleanse, transform, and analyse data, ensuring the accuracy and reliability that underpins our reporting.
- Work closely with stakeholders to enhance our data collection and distribution processes, ensuring the right information gets to the right people at the right time.
- Ensure data integrity and provide expert guidance on data-related challenges, contributing to a culture of strong data management and informed decision-making.
- Craft clear and concise written communications, from quick briefs to detailed reports, for a variety of audiences, including senior executive stakeholders.
- Maintain a holistic understanding of project implementation to accurately report on progress, risks, and the outcomes achieved.
- Foster strong relationships with stakeholders through effective communication and collaboration to ensure our reporting meets their needs and supports strategic goals.
What We're Looking For
As an ideal candidate you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in analysing complex data and the ability to see the bigger picture, translating findings into meaningful narratives.
- A strong command of relevant programming languages (e.g., R, Python, VBA), data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau) and project management applications (e.g., Power BI).
- Proven skills in data cleansing, transformation, and ensuring data quality and integrity.
- The ability to clearly and confidently communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences, both verbally and in writing.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to producing high-quality, reliable analysis and reporting.
- A collaborative approach with the ability to build effective relationships and work effectively with diverse teams.
- Proven ability to work independently, manage tasks effectively, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science) or demonstrable equivalent experience in a data analysis and reporting role.
- Experience with SQL or similar database technologies is highly valued.
