About UNSW and the School of PsychologyThe School of Psychology at UNSW is the leading Psychology school in Australia. The Role- Salary: $113k - $121k plus 17% Superannuation and annual leave loading
- Contract: Fixed Term – 2.5 years
- Hours: Full time (35 hours)
The role reports to Professor Kaarin Anstey and has no direct reports.
Specific Responsibilities- Contribute independently or as a team member to developing data assets, data sharing systems and protocols, statistical analysis plans.
- Prepare applications for data access and ethical approvals for datasets.
- Conduct research on risk of Alzheimers disease in women consistent with the project work plan and create scholarly output on this topic that is recognised by peers.
- Support the dissemination of research outcomes through appropriate channels and outlets.
- Undertake advanced statistical modelling of cohort studies to identify risk factors and produce individual and population-based estimates.
- Participate in and/or present at conferences and/or workshops relevant to the project as required.
- Assist with the supervision of research students in the research area where required.
- Contribute to systematic reviews relevant to achieving the research milestones.
- Align with and actively demonstrate the Code of Conduct and Values.
- Cooperate with all health and safety policies and procedures of the university and take all reasonable care to ensure that your actions or omissions do not impact on the health and safety of yourself or others.
- A PhD in Statistics, Quantitative Psychology or a related area.
- Demonstrated skills in longitudinal modelling and data synthesis, including machine learning, regression and GLM.
- Demonstrated ability to undertake high quality academic research in the field of dementia, cognitive ageing or womens brain health, and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Demonstrated track record of publications and conference presentations relevant to the topic of the program of work.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSWs aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
