Due to continued growth and recent internal movement, Killard Group seeks to engage an experienced Construction Manager to manage several QLD projects and become an integral part of the national leadership team with a handle on day-to-day management of the QLD business unit.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a genuine passion for Project Delivery, client interaction and community engagement as the Killard group seeks a leader who has those three strengths. Ideally, your background is within utility infrastructure space with a passion for Water Infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Management of all construction site teams and the delivery of projects
  • The full coordination of all resources in collaboration with the executive management team
  • Ensure site compliance with safety, environmental and quality standards and regulations
  • Commercial and contractual control of all current live projects, ensuring that the project teams understand contract clauses, allowances, risks, opportunities, variations and Extension Of Times
  • Involvement in the Business Development of the Group in SEQ. Interacting with new clients, seeking opportunities and assisting the Tendering team in winning projects in the region
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure accurate tracking, monitoring and forecasting of all project costs, ensuring the project remains within budget
  • Review, update and provide project reports to Head Office (progress, commercials, R&O, budget, objectives, client relationship) every month
  • Responsible and owner of the profit & loss for SEQ projects
  • Manage and champion a collaborative, productive, and fun team environment.
Qualifications
  • Confident and resilient Construction / Operations Manager with the ability to engage effectively with diverse teams in a dynamic construction environment
  • 10 years + experience as part of project management teams
  • Experience in self-delivery of projects
  • Civil Engineering degree or similar
  • In-depth understanding of Australian employment legislation, enterprise bargaining agreements, and industrial/employee relations frameworks
  • Strong commercial & contract understanding, including guidance of Contract Administration teams
  • Proficient in MS Office & MS Project software packages
  • Capable of preparing monthly project reports covering all aspects of the projects
  • Proven background in managing teams and organisational change
  • Energetic and proactive approach, combined with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • A problem solver who loves delving into key issues and formulating value-added people strategies and solutions
