Our client is a leading global investment bank with a robust reputation for delivering exceptional financial solutions and advisory services to a diverse client base. Their Real Estate coverage group is renowned for its deep industry expertise and innovative approach to complex real estate transactions.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Investment Banking Analyst to join their team in Sydney. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on high-profile real estate transactions, collaborate with industry experts, and contribute to the strategic advisory services they provide to their clients. As an Associate, you will play a critical role in the execution of deals, financial analysis, transaction execution, and client interaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Transaction Execution: Support senior bankers in the execution of real estate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, capital raises, and advisory mandates. Prepare detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction materials.
  • Client Interaction: Assist in managing client relationships by preparing pitch books, conducting industry research, and providing insights that drive strategic decision-making.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct thorough financial analyses, including discounted cash flow (DCF) models, comparable company analysis, and precedent transaction analysis.
  • Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends, market developments, and regulatory changes affecting the real estate sector. Provide insightful market intelligence to support client strategies.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior bankers, analysts, and other team members to ensure the successful execution of transactions and delivery of high-quality client service.
  • Presentation Preparation: Develop and refine presentations for client meetings, internal strategy sessions, and other key engagements.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or a related field with a minimum Distinction average.
  • Experience: 1-4 years of relevant experience, ideally in investment banking or a real estate transactions focused position. Experience in a corporate M&A role where you have sold/acquired real estate assets would also be considered.
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and financial statement analysis.
  • Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and interact with clients and team members.
  • Attention to detail: Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team Player: Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team while demonstrating initiative and leadership capabilities.
