Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Queensland Government Full time

Yeronga State High School is seeking an enthusiastic Executive Services Officer to support improved service delivery within our local community. In this key role, you will work closely with the Principal and Senior Executive Team, managing a variety of corporate service tasks. Responsibilities include coordinating events, supporting strategic initiatives, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily activities. This is a dynamic opportunity for a proactive professional with strong organisational and communication skills to contribute to a vibrant and inclusive school environment. This role is suited to someone who likes early starts, as the position supports the leadership team in maintaining our absence register and booking relief staff each morning.

With a focus on high standards, strong foundations, and innovative teaching, we value quality, harmony, and sustainability. Our inclusive approach ensures that all students have access to broad learning opportunities that prepare them for a balanced future. We promote resilience, global citizenship, and respect for diversity, enabling students to work collaboratively and break down barriers. At Yeronga, students gain the knowledge, skills, and confidence to pursue further education in Australia or overseas and to make a positive difference in their communities and the wider world.

About You

While experience in the education sector is not essential, it would be highly regarded. More importantly, you bring a collaborative attitude, a willingness to learn, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

As part of a fast-paced and continuously improving environment, it's essential that you are a team player who is flexible, reliable, and ready to go above and beyond to contribute to the success of the school. A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a dynamic setting will see you succeed in this role.

  • Record and distribute meeting minutes, and provide summaries of briefings as directed by the Principal
  • Manage and maintain the school calendar, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of key dates and events
  • Handle school purchases using the corporate card, including reconciliation of statements and management of supporting documentation
  • Assist Deputy Principals with teacher absences by maintaining the absence register, booking relief staff, and managing entries in Tracer for payroll purposes
  • Coordinate and manage key school events such as Awards Night, Graduation, ANZAC Day Ceremony, Open Day, and Parent-Teacher Interviews
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and the Student Services team to produce and distribute consent forms for excursions
  • Provide support for additional school events, including creating certificates, assisting with bookings, and other administrative tasks as required
  • Other tasks as requested
  • Please note: this role requires a 6.30am start each day **

Please refer to the attached role description for the full list of responsibilities and mandatory requirements for this position.
