Overview

Heavy industrial Maintenance Electricians role at Rio Tinto. Opportunities exist for Electrical and Instrumentation Technicians to join our high performing Maintenance teams across the Gladstone Yarwun site operations in Central Queensland.

Responsibilities
  • Maintaining and replacing electrical equipment
  • Execution of planned and unplanned breakdown maintenance
  • Troubleshooting, calibrating, repair and service of fixed plant instrumentation and electrical assets
  • Testing and maintaining HV and power generation systems
  • Working at heights
  • Working autonomously, being reliable and positively contributing to the maintenance team, ensuring assets are maintained in a safe and reliable condition
  • Being flexible and adaptable to changing business needs
  • Identifying and implementing improvement initiatives, potentially working with multiple disciplines within the organisation
  • Promoting and identifying HSE opportunities to improve equipment, processes and behaviours
  • Execution of defined primary and secondary scopes from SAP (CMMS)
What You'll Bring
  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • Respect for others and an inclusive mindset
  • Valid C Class drivers licence
  • An Australian A grade Electrical licence
  • Proven history of fault finding and repairs on various electrical equipment
  • Proven maintenance experience working in heavy/industrial industry
  • HV switching or instrumentation experience preferable

Where you'll be working

Located in Central Queensland, approximately 10km north-west of Gladstone. Yarwun alumina refinery commenced operations in 2004 and produces more than three million tonnes of smelter grade alumina annually. Yarwun employs over 700 people with a large contractor workforce and focuses on safety and continuous improvement.
