This is an exciting opportunity to join our Liverpool or Bankstown Older People's Community Mental Health Team.

This is a unique opportunity to work within a highly experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering compassionate, person-centred mental health care to older adults.

As part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) Mental Health Service, you'll contribute to promoting mental wellbeing across the community. What You'll be Doing

Deliver psychological and psychosocial assessments, diagnoses, interventions, and consultations to address the needs of consumers living with complex mental health problems and disorders.

The role also involves evaluating clinical outcomes, developing, and providing education and training programs. Additionally, supervising psychologists and other disciplines within the LHD according to organisational needs.

Where You'll Be Working

SWSLHD Community Mental Health Services provide comprehensive, community-based mental health care across South Western Sydney, catering to children, adolescents, adults, and older persons, ensuring specialised care throughout various life stages. The multidisciplinary teams offer assessments, crisis intervention, care coordination, and therapy, working closely with inpatient services, GPs, and community organisations to provide holistic care.

Qualifications
  • Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification of at least two years full-time duration or recognized equivalent.
  • Describe a time when you provided a complex clinical assessment and intervention using evidence-based techniques for an older adult. How did you tailor your approach, and what was the outcome?
  • How have you contributed to the development or supervision of others in a clinical setting? Include examples of supervising psychologists or students, supporting multidisciplinary teams, or leading quality improvement or research initiatives.
  • Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those holding a license from another state must obtain an NSW C-Class license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
