Job Description

The Equipment Inspectors are part of our Detailed Equipment Information (DEI) team. They are responsible for performing accurate and thorough visual inspections (e.g., wear points, damage, hour meter readings, etc.) and functional testing (e.g., basic operations) on heavy equipment.

Responsibilities
  1. Gather and verify equipment inventory information (e.g., contract proofs, equipment additions, serial numbers, etc.)
  2. Identify and record equipment components, accessories, and asset details
  3. Verify equipment descriptions based on our Equipment Standards Manual
  4. Ensure the quality of equipment data and other related information
  5. Verify requirements for warranty applicable items
  6. Compose and take photos of the equipment
  7. Provide assistance, as required, to the DEI Team
  8. Assist the Sales team with appraisals and write-ups in the field between peak periods
  9. Promote a culture where the health and safety of our employees and customers is a top priority
  10. Actively support the RB Unreserved Commitment to Safety: to send everyone home, every day, the way they came to work, by taking personal responsibility for your safety and the safety of your team, co-workers, and customers
  11. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  1. Prior experience in equipment management (inspections, inventory, and appraisals) and/or inventory control management, preferably in the auction or heavy equipment business
  2. Knowledge of industrial and/or agricultural equipment, trucks, and trailers
  3. Proficiency using computers, MS Office Suite products (Word, Excel), and digital cameras
  4. Top-notch written and verbal communication skills (you will be using a 2-way radio and a desk phone)
  5. Good penmanship – we need to be able to read your writing and printing easily
  6. Excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to accuracy
  7. Experience working independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  8. Strong time management skills: the ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize work are essential
  9. A strong customer service orientation
