About SMP QA/QC Inspector Role

We are seeking an experienced SMP Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team in Victoria.

The ideal candidate will have experience using and understanding auditing and Quality Systems (ISO 9001:2008 / AS 4801:2001).

You will be responsible for promoting compliance and driving process and cost improvement through a continuous improvement culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, implement and support team centered continuous improvement activities.
  • Identify and resolve non-value-added activities, develop cost reduction projects utilizing root cause corrective action and process maps for effective problem solving.
  • Assist project teams to complete works in accordance with contract documentation and standards along with operational procedures.
  • Maintain monitoring of project progress, safety, environmental and quality procedures of both the client and KAEFER.
  • Maintain document control registers to coincide with company policies.
  • Assist in inspection plans, test plans & quality plans.
  • Record onsite quality requirements.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
  • Manage data collection system ensuring testing records are up to date and appropriately recorded.
  • Carry out audits and inspections and report on deficiencies or trends of the quality system in accordance with appropriate Australian Standards.
  • Prepare reports on quality matters where required.
  • Ensure calibrated equipment is used and equipment calibration register is maintained.
  • Coordinate site inspections with client representatives.
  • Ensure all works are correctly prepared prior to client inspection, involving daily process site inspection and answering queries and concerns from supervisors.

About You

  • Must hold a CSWIP.
  • Experience using and understanding the requirements of auditing and Quality Systems (ISO 9001:2008 / AS 4801:2001).
  • Experience performing multidisciplinary inspections, interpreting isometric drawings, investigating quality non-conformances / discrepancies and implementing corrective actions.
  • Able to understand technical information and design drawings.
  • Strong and professional communication and customer service skills.
  • Intermediate skill level in the 2010 Microsoft Office package, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and without close supervision.
