Role overviewPlay a vital role in supporting patient care by ensuring accurate and timely billing within one of Queensland's leading health services. This role focuses on accurate and timely billing practices that support effective revenue services and contributes to the smooth delivery of financial processes within Metro South Health.
Responsibilities- Process billing schedules, inpatient accounts, and related documentation in accordance with legislative and departmental requirements.
- Liaise with Health Funds, Medicare, and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and follow up on outstanding accounts.
- Maintain and update billing records and patient information with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Provide administrative support, data extraction, and reporting to ensure compliance and efficiency across billing systems.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships and deliver high-quality service to patients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Strong planning and time management skills to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Ability and willingness to develop knowledge in billing systems, medical terminology, and legislative requirements.
- Demonstrated initiative and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in major adult specialties across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant. We are nationally recognised for trauma management and organ transplants and are a leading academic and research health centre. PAH hosts the Translational Research Institute (TRI) and a Clinical Research Facility for discoveries from TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
