About the Opportunity

Raytheon Australia is a trusted capability partner delivering complex, innovative, and meaningful engineering projects for the Australian Defence Force. We seek a Senior Logistics Support Engineer to join a dynamic Engineering Team, conduct engineering assessments, review and support the approval of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and contribute to the Capability Assurance of the RAN Surface Fleet. You will work with peers, ADF personnel, capability partners, sub-contractors and suppliers, with opportunities to learn and be mentored on engineering methodology and processes. You will be enrolled in our national Engineering network and supported by the Integrated Logistics Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• As the technical interface between the customer, management and the implementation team, conduct logistics support analysis to ensure products being supported can be sustained.
• Engage with System Design activities (including trade studies) to ensure mechanical design artefacts are compatible with the baselined product; ensure consistency across subsystems and meet performance requirements.
• Assess and review program costs, identifying efficiencies and/or cost avoidance opportunities.
• Monitor, evaluate, and report on performance to enable early identification of issues and opportunities.
• Perform technical risk analysis as required to support development and review of hazard logs, safety case arguments and risk mitigation actions.
• Develop, modify, and improve tools, processes, and procedures to meet program requirements, with endorsement from functional leaders.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to uphold Raytheon's reputation as a trusted partner in delivering systems integration and mission support solutions.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Mandatory:
  • Tertiary Qualification in a relevant engineering discipline; sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream, including the ability to attain RPEQ recognition.
  • Minimum 7 years of prior relevant experience (when a University Degree is held).
  • Experience in effectively representing Engineering professional services to internal and external customers.
• Desirable:
  • Postgraduate course(s) in reliability, availability, and maintainability techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of logistics engineering methodologies and techniques.
  • Advanced knowledge of Integrated logistics systems, logistics support analysis, and maintenance requirements determination methodologies.
  • Advanced understanding of systems engineering, maintenance, and supply chain principles, policies, and procedures.
  • Advanced understanding of relevant Defence regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with a logistics modelling software e.g. OPUS, MADe or eLESPRO.
  • This position may require availability to travel when required.
