Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor Experimental Condensed Matter Physics

Location: UNSW Canberra, ADFA Campus, Australia. Employment type: Full-time, 35 hours per week. Duration: Continuing. Remuneration: Level C from $155,403 or Level D from $185,917 plus 17% super.

Overview
The School of Science at UNSW Canberra invites applications for a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer to contribute to experimental condensed matter physics through research, teaching, curriculum design, and service to the School and University. The position will be filled at Academic Level C (Lecturer) or Level D (Senior Lecturer), depending on experience.

In this dynamic role you will combine research and teaching to make a meaningful impact by: designing and delivering courses, building a vibrant research portfolio, publishing high-quality work, applying for grants, supervising students, and contributing to administration and collegial life within the School.

Who You Are (Qualifications and Experience)
At Senior Lecturer Level C:

• A PhD in experimental condensed matter physics or a related discipline.

• Expertise in cryogenic techniques and measurements at low temperatures.

• Demonstrated track record in experimental condensed matter physics research.

• Evidence of ability to support and inspire students.

• Experience in teaching and learning design, course/program development and delivery at undergraduate and/or postgraduate levels.

• Experience implementing educational technologies and online delivery methods.

• Demonstrated success in curriculum development and improvement.

• Experience recruiting and supervising high-caliber students.

• Ability to interact with the profession and industry and attract funding for learning and teaching initiatives.

At Associate Professor Level D (in addition to Level C skills):

• Demonstrated experience with industry or work-integrated learning.

• Evidence of professional development of teaching practice and ability to advance an inclusive culture of excellence in learning and teaching.

• Highly developed interpersonal and organisational skills.

• Significant track record in research leadership with high-quality, international impact and ongoing research excellence and leadership.

• Demonstrated leadership in building engagement and partnerships with the profession and industry.
