About The Opportunity

This role sits within our team dedicated to product development for the Mechanical Cutting division, part of Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions. As a Mechanical Engineer, you'll be involved in every stage of the product development cycle – from initial concept through to product launch – creating solutions for both the mining and civil industries.

Working closely with cross-functional teams, your technical expertise and attention to detail will help deliver high-quality, industry-leading products. You'll be part of a supportive and collaborative environment where your ideas and contributions are genuinely valued and recognised.

Areas of responsibility

  • Responsible for the engineering support for new, in-service and overhaul of mechanical cutting and RTV equipment
  • Preparation of 3D models and 2D drawings for manufacture, assembly, rebuilds and manuals
  • Supports the product safety, product management, production units and sales departments in technical matters
  • Maintaining the machine BOM and Product Data Management (Teamcenter)
  • Preparation of technical documentation and design criteria based on statutory and industry standards
  • Perform engineering calculations as needed as per the project deliverables
  • Connecting link with regulator and verifier according of the relevant legislation and specific regulations with respect to the RTV product in Australia (NSW and Qld).
  • Adhere to all policies & procedures especially the EHS policies

About You

Your experience and interest in areas such as product design, product safety, and industrial design—combined with strong project management skills—will be key to driving our initiatives forward.

We're seeking someone who thrives on challenges, has a results-driven mindset, and demonstrates innovative thinking. A proven track record of successful project delivery, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, will enable you to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently are also essential.
