Overview

Retail Assistant role at Lifeline, part of UnitingCare Queensland. Lifeline Queensland is part of a national network bringing hope to Australians doing it tough. Around 750 lives are lost to suicide every year in Queensland. Through our state-wide footprint of crisis support, training and retail services, and the compassionate offer of support, we can save lives.

As a Retail Assistant, you'll be encouraged to grow, develop and feel empowered, contributing to the meaningful work of Queensland's leading charity retail brand. Everyday our 120 stores across Queensland sell donated goods, giving pre-loved items a second life and bringing in profit to support our Crisis Support Line and suicide prevention services.

Employment details
  • Employment Term: Christmas casual position commencing in September up until January 2026 (may be opportunity for hours following this date if you're seeking longer term employment).
  • Location: Morayfield and Ballara Lifeline Retail Stores (Queensland).
  • Remuneration: $33.18 p/hr + Super + NFP Salary Packaging (save tax and increase your take home pay) + commission program for high performers.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure product merchandising & store presentation is of a high standard.
  • Complete inventory management & stocktaking.
  • Assist customers with enquiries and sales.
Qualifications & qualities
  • Passion for retail and a genuine desire to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Passion for the local community and building relationships to understand local needs.
  • The ability to recognise potential and promote store growth.
  • Self-motivated with initiative and a positive attitude; good personal presentation.
  • Ability to provide first-class customer service and work both independently and within a team.
  • Availability to work weekends.
