The Research Development Lead is responsible for conducting and coordinating Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs research in line with the direction of the Integrated Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drug (IMHAOD) services across the Mid North Coast Local Health District (MNCLHD).
The position will guide and support the service to build on the research capacity, capability and culture by actively seeking funding opportunities and supporting clinician led research. The role will provide high level advice to the IMHAOD Medical Director and IMHAOD Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on the development and implementation of research capacity building programs and state-wide and national initiatives relating to Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs research.
The Research Development Lead will also work collaboratively with key stakeholders and external organisations to develop an IMHAOD research strategy that promotes, engages and leads partnerships with a range of health, education and research organisations and programs.
Location negotiable within the Mid North Coast Local Health District.
About YouWe are looking for someone with extensive relevant research management experience in a large and diverse service organisation, plus experience in conducting high quality research, obtaining research and innovation funding, and publications that translate outcomes into clinical practice or policy. You will need a proven record of health service delivery leadership and innovation, with experience communicating complex research concepts to a diverse audience.
Demonstrated excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult, negotiate and delegate effectively with a diverse range of people.

Other informationThis is a Category A position. Applicants will be reviewed for compliance with NSW Health policy directives for Category A positions prior to offer. All new employees must comply with occupational assessment screening and vaccination requirements. Salary will be in accordance with NSW Health State Awards. A talent pool may be created for future roles and will remain valid for 18 months.
