Your opportunity

As Assistant Facility Manager, you will support the Senior Facility/Facility Manager with the day-to-day maintenance and operation of building services, ensuring the asset is maintained in optimal condition, utilized cost-effectively, and complies with legislative requirements. Your role is crucial in maintaining safety and delivering memorable experiences to retailers, operators, customers, guests, and communities.

Travel may be required for this role.

Your responsibilities include:

  1. Contributing to Asset and Business Plan objectives, understanding the asset lifecycle;
  2. Building relationships with retailers, operators, Mirvac teams, community groups, authorities, customers, and guests, and attending meetings as needed;
  3. Managing all fixtures, plant, and equipment in compliance with legislative standards and lifecycle expectations, ensuring performance, repair, maintenance, presentation, and cleanliness;
  4. Monitoring and managing the performance of cleaning and security teams to meet or exceed KPIs;
  5. Identifying maintenance needs and coordinating with suppliers or contractors to ensure timely and quality work, adhering to WHS and Mirvac policies;
  6. Ensuring building services like vertical transport and HVAC systems function efficiently and reliably;
  7. Responding to hazards reported via CMS or other channels;
  8. Collaborating with the Tenancy Coordination team to minimize disruption during fit-outs and alterations, ensuring safety and compliance;
  9. Being on call 24/7, including weekends and after-hours, on a rotational basis.

Your point of difference

  1. Previous technical experience with mechanical/electrical trade or tertiary qualification is highly desirable;
  2. Experience in retail and building management industries is preferred;
  3. Experience in managing expenditure budgets on an accrual basis;
  4. Experience in roles with high volume and conflicting priorities;
  5. Negotiation and contract enforcement skills;
  6. High proficiency in IT, especially Microsoft Office;
  7. Knowledge of Australian Standards, NCC, HSE, DDA, and risk management;
  8. Proactive, problem-solving attitude, with a focus on efficiency and system improvements;
  9. Team player with the ability to work independently, multitask, and adapt to change.
