PHE currently has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Accountant to join our team at our corporate office in Fortitude Valley.

PHE has 50 years of experience providing electrical and instrumentation operations support services across Australia, including mining, hydropower, remote gas power generation, food and beverage, pulp and paper manufacturing, and timber processing industries. We are a growing industrial electrical contracting company with projects and branches in NSW, QLD, SA, and WA, offering a safe, efficient, and rewarding work environment that promotes growth.

This full-time Graduate Accountant role requires excellent attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

In This Role You Will
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Prepare general journal entries: depreciation, accruals, prepayments
  • Post inter-company debtor/creditor settlements and loan reconciliations
  • Reconcile plant and equipment leases
  • Maintain trust ledgers, bank reconciliations, and trial balances (Excel and Xero)
  • Assist Group Accountant with monthly reporting and year-end processes
  • Reconcile wages and superannuation
  • Assist with ad hoc projects
  • Coordinate with the administration team across the business
Skills and Experience
  • Good understanding of Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Xero and MYOB EXO preferred but not essential
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
The Successful Candidate Will Have
  • Qualification in Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • Ability to pass a National Police Check
