Permanent part time opportunity under the direction of the Senior Health Information Manager – Data Services, guide and mentor the clinical coders in accordance with organisational goals, guidelines and relevant legislation. Through quality systems, manage auditing, data verification and clinical liaison to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of inpatient morbidity data.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Abstract relevant and verify information from the paper medical record and all available clinical information systems.
- Assign timely and accurate morbidity and procedural classifications to episodes of care to meet Department of Health deadlines and health service reporting requirements.
- Identify discrepancies between the clinical information systems and medical records and feedback through appropriate channels.
- Proactively participate in end of month tasks, including onsite coding, promoting teamwork to ensure monthly deadlines are met.
