We are seeking an experienced A06 Senior Training Officer (Instructional Design) for a state government department located in the Ipswich region. This role is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of both accredited and non-accredited training programs. These programs are tailored to meet the specific needs of inspectors, technical staff, and support personnel within the department. The position focuses on delivering innovative, practical, and fit-for-purpose training solutions aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and facilitate engaging training activities and assessments using instructional design best practices.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create accessible, high-quality learning content.
  • Manage training projects from concept to delivery within set timeframes and resources.
  • Ensure training compliance with the VET Quality Framework, AQF, ASQA, and relevant legislation.
  • Provide expert advice to senior management on training policies and strategic initiatives.
  • Foster strong stakeholder relationships to support training program success.
  • Contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement of training systems and processes.
Key Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications
  • Broad instructional design skills applicable within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) environment, including proven experience in developing e-learning content.
  • Strong understanding of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector and its regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with a focus on delivering quality outcomes and applying quality-driven processes.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrating adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Formal qualification such as TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)
  • Experience in designing, developing, and implementing digital learning programs.
  • Leadership and project management experience, with a track record of driving business improvements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to enterprise systems such as aXcelerate LMS and Replicon timesheet software.
