About the role

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Print Room Operator which will be based within our clients print centre (based in the Eastern Suburbs). The Print Room Operator is a key contributor within the VIC Direct Service team. In this role you will provide the full provision of services including Print production and the preparation and distribution of print work.

The role requires a multifaceted and agile approach, given its customer service nature and day-to-day functioning of the print centre. If you enjoy solving problems and exceeding client expectations, this role will be perfect for you.

Ideal Candidate

To be qualified for this position, ideally you will have previous experience in a similar role, or your background and skills will comprise of the following:

  1. Print room production and document composition duties
  2. Ensuring high quality internal and external documents are produced in the print centre.
  3. Providing offline finishing binding, scoring, and laminating
  4. Utilising job submission software to receive and manage print requests.
  5. Managing overflow and specialty requirements with outsourced print partners
  6. Pre-production document design, editing and imposition to suit the individual job requirements.
  7. Basic level troubleshooting on production printers.

Knowledge & Experience & Requirements

  1. Self-motivated and comfortable working autonomously
  2. Ability to provide exceptional customer service using various communication methods such as face-to-face interactions, over the phone and via email
  3. Proven experience as a print room operator
  4. Flexible, willing to assist, comfortable to meet deadlines in line with SLA's
  5. Enjoy collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including 3rd party suppliers
  6. Familiar with KM Production equipment would be advantageous
  7. Good understanding of the end-to-end production workflow
  8. Sound skills in:
  • Microsoft office applications
  • Adobe CC
  • Job Tickets – Trello
  • Graphic design
  • Quoting
  • Wide format
IT network and software application-related troubleshooting experience will be very highly regarded.This role will need to deliver finished products around the client campus and therefore a level of physical fitness will be required.

As per Konica Minolta compliance procedures, the successful candidate will therefore be required to undertake background checks including a Working with Children check.
