Role

Kaplan Business School (KBS) is seeking casual lecturers for our Data Science and Analytics (DSA) discipline at the Perth, Sydney and Gold Coast campuses. The overall purpose of the lecturers at KBS is to facilitate engaging and highly interactive structured classes in accordance with the syllabus, mark assignments in line with marking guides, and provide regular feedback and consultation to students.

We Are Seeking Dedicated Individuals To Teach At The Postgraduate Level, Ideally With a Doctoral-level Qualification Or a Master-level Qualification With Industrial Experience In One Or More Of The Following Technical Areas

• Applied Data Science & Analytics
• Python for Data Science
• Data Security & Data Ethics
• Predictive Analytics & Forecasting
• Marketing & Social-Media Analytics
• Project & Change Management for Analytics Initiatives
• Innovation & Design Thinking

It is essential to us that candidates are either presently active in the industry or have accumulated sufficient recent work experience, since our philosophy at Kaplan Business School is to cultivate job-ready graduates who have been taught and assessed in line with the expectations of their future employers.

• Mark assessments promptly and provide comprehensive feedback
• Foster professional and productive student-teacher relationships
• Provide regular support and consultation to students

Requirements

• A passion for teaching and mentoring
• A PhD qualification in data science or a related field, or a Master level qualification in data science or a related field, plus relevant work experience
• Industry leadership experience in data science is preferred
• Experience in coordinating subjects at a tertiary level is desirable (but not required)
• An appreciation of the distinction between lecturing and educating
• Sensitivity to the needs of international students
• Comprehensiveness and thoughtfulness when marking assessments
• Ability to meet tight academic deadlines
