Offer Description
  • Fixed Term until April 2027 | Full-Time
  • Academic Level A | $86,423 - $104,734 p.a.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of research by offering new ideas, reviewing relevant literature and other sources of information, actively participating in the production of data, and attending seminars, meetings, and conferences.
  • Support the Project by collaborating with the Project Research Team to successfully deliver project milestones and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Assist principal supervisors with supervision of postgraduate students.
About You

With a strong research track record, your well-developed technical and analytical skills will elevate the quality of research undertaken. You will be capable of working independently and in a team, as well as using your initiative to manage multiple projects and prioritize workloads. You will be a good communicator, capable of establishing and upholding positive relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

As the successful candidate, you will also demonstrate:

  • Completion of a PhD in Chemistry or significant progress towards completion of a PhD in Chemistry.
  • Demonstrated experience performing quantum mechanical (QM) calculations and multi-scale modelling (e.g. QM/MM) using standard computational chemistry software. Experience using the results of such calculations in mechanism discovery and catalyst design is also essential. A strong theoretical background in physical, organic, and organometallic chemistry is also desirable.
  • Research experience in terms of publications and presentations at a national and/or international level.
