The Mornington Peninsula is a thriving tourist destination known for its stunning beaches, scenic coastal walks, and world-class wineries. Our client's restaurant and winery is a popular spot for both locals and tourists alike, offering a unique dining experience that showcases the best of regional Victorian produce.

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef and Sous Chef to join our client's team. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen operations, menu planning, and staff management.

About the Role

As a Head Chef or Sous Chef, you will be responsible for:

  • Menu planning and development: Create innovative and seasonal menus that showcase the best of local produce.
  • Leading the kitchen team: Supervise and train junior chefs to achieve high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Food safety and hygiene: Ensure all kitchen operations meet the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
  • Stock management: Effectively manage stock levels and minimize waste.
  • Financial management: Monitor kitchen expenses and ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Quality control: Maintain the highest standards of quality in all aspects of kitchen operations.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of kitchen experience, including leadership and supervisory roles.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with food safety and OHS guidelines.
