Overview

MyLab Pathology is a privately owned histopathology laboratory located in Salisbury, Brisbane. We have a position available for a Laboratory Technician with additional administration duties to work Monday to Friday within the hours of 6:00AM to 2:00PM. Training will be provided to successful candidate.

Responsibilities
  • Unpacking and accessioning of specimens
  • Simple and complex grossing
  • Microtomy
  • General clean-up of laboratory
  • Specimen filing
  • Collecting specimens from medical clinics
  • Typing speed of >70WPM
  • Confident and experienced with computers, able to touch type, and frequently used programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Be available for split shifts and with the flexibility to work longer/other shifts at late notice
  • Must hold a current open QLD license
  • Able to lift and carry medical, clinical, and laboratory supplies (up to 20kg)
Ideal criteria
  • Ability to perform all allocated tasks in an accurate and timely manner, with minimal to no supervision
  • Self-motivated and organised with a keen sense for improvement
  • Professional appearance and presentation
  • Cleanliness within the workplace
  • Maintain attention to detail under pressure
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal skills and effective communication
