About the Role

We want to work with you to create the future of design and delivery for the built environment. We believe this demands the development of new workflows, enabled by a modern technology environment that provides enhanced and agile experiences for our design teams and clients. Built on a foundation of BIM, parametric modelling and computation methods, this ecosystem elevates augmented and informed design, collaboration, communication, and data flow across the entire project lifecycle. You will lead the global design technology function helping develop and implement the next generation of technology-enabled design and delivery.

Please Note: We are open to this position being based in Melbourne or Sydney. Please indicate your preferred location in your application.

Key areas of Responsibility:

• Establish a high quality and efficient project environment that delivers to the organisation's risk profile and the client brief
• Manage design platforms, ensuring all features are optimised and platforms are well integrated
• Optimise DT processes and workflows (efficiency / quality)
• Create automation tools that deliver a high ROI, focusing on adoption
• Develop innovative solutions and utilise emerging technology and AI to create improvements in design process, design solutions and project delivery
• Lead the development of computational and parametric design solutions
• Champion a continuous improvement and learning culture
• Prioritisation and oversight of content creation across project libraries to deliver efficiencies
• Together with Global Leader of IT, develop and implement an integrated technology strategy
• Establish priorities for investment in DT resources and monitor ROI
• Work collaboratively with Design and Delivery Leaders to drive optimal project delivery
• Create a close working relationship between Group DT and Studio DT
• Build a high performing, integrated, collaborative team
• Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to deliver tangible outcomes for the organisation
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with key vendors to optimise technology outcomes
• Build and maintain key industry partnerships

About You

As the successful candidate, you bring extensive experience working at a global scale within a large architectural or engineering firm. Your expertise spans design technology strategy, implementation, and optimisation, ensuring seamless integration of cutting-edge tools and methodologies. You thrive in a leadership role, guiding teams through technological advancements, fostering collaboration, driving a culture of innovation and knowledge sharing, and influencing best practices at a global level.

Your passion for emerging technologies, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement makes you the key driver of digital excellence within Woods Bagot. You demonstrate outstanding stakeholder management skills and communicate effectively across all levels of the organisation - from graduates to the Board. You also serve as a strong advocate for Woods Bagot, representing the organisation as a respected voice in the industry through thought leadership and participation at conferences.

You will be able to demonstrate:

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline
• 12-15+ years' experience working in a similar role
• Extensive experience with the use of technology on large and complex projects
• Ability to develop financial models of ROI for proposed technology/tools
• Ability to use time effectively, maximise efficiency, and meet challenging goals
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
