General Counsel

Who is Linkly?

Linkly is a Fintech company that specialises in building payment integration solutions for businesses and we have been Australia's leading payments software supplier for over 20 years. We build software for instore and online payment processing and serve all major Banks and retailers, including CBA, ANZ, Woolworths, David Jones, Myer, JB Hi-Fi, and Bunnings just to name a few. We are experiencing strong growth and looking to bring some of our legal advice in-house with a great all-rounder who enjoys both in-house and client facing work.

Your responsibilities typically include:

• Legal Advice and Guidance: Providing legal advice to senior management and stakeholders on a wide range of issues, including corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiation.
• Contract Management: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with clients, vendors, and partners to protect the company's interests.
• Risk Assessment: Identifying and assessing legal risks associated with business strategies and operations, and developing risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Corporate Governance: Advising on corporate governance matters and ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
• Employment Law: Providing guidance on employment law matters, including employee relations, contracts, and compliance with labour regulations.
• Intellectual Property: Managing and protecting the company's intellectual property portfolio, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.

Qualifications / Experience:

• 5-7 years PQE relevant in-house legal experience in a high-tech company or commercial law firm, with a current practicing certificate and law degree.
• Proven experience in drafting, negotiating, and managing SaaS agreements, Terms of Service, procurement, partnership, professional services, and intellectual property agreements.
• Significant transactional experience, preferably in an in-house environment, working on a wide variety of commercial contracts, including but not limited to SOWs, NDAs, and MSAs, vendor, procurement, supply chain, service, and customer/sales agreements.
• Strong ability to provide commercially focused legal advice and partner effectively with business teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with local employment law and providing legal support on employee relations.
• Familiarity with privacy regulations and data protection, with experience liaising with regulators and law enforcement bodies being advantageous.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects under deadlines, solve complex problems creatively, and gain trust across teams.
