About the Role :
The South Australian National Parks andWildlife Service has an exciting opportunity for an experienced andcapable person to take on a senior leadership role as a NationalParks and Wildlife Manager at Port Lincoln in the Eyre and Far Westregion. The National Parks and Wildlife Manager isaccountable to the Director, Park Operations and CommunityPartnerships, National Parks and Public Lands Division.Therole leads the region's management team, fostering a culture ofprofessionalism and high performance. The role is responsible forthe overall management of the region's public land estate -including the region's network of parks, commercial enterprises andCrown lands. The role facilitates economic growth in the region bysupporting regional employment, nature based tourism experiences,and new and innovative growth opportunities.
The National Parks and Wildlife Manager leads a team of seniorregional staff charged with ensuring the delivery of a suite ofpark, conservation and wildlife management, visitor, firemanagement, asset management, co-management, commercial, heritageand wildlife management initiatives and programs. The role fosterscollaborative partnerships with Aboriginal partners, communityleaders, Landscape SA Boards, local government, and other externalstakeholders to advance environmental stewardship and ensure thatpeople have a strong connection to our parks, places, coasts andcountry.
The National Parks and Wildlife Manager directs key projects andprograms and leads staff, workplace safety and administrativearrangements across the region and effectively supports andinspires regional staff to deliver the highest quality outcomes inthe work they do.

This is an ongoing contract.
Special Conditions :
Will be required to participate in emergency operationsincluding bushfire operations, search and rescue and marinemammal strandings. This may require at times, some out ofhour's work including the participation in an"on-call" roster.Inter and intrastate and remote area travel is required,including travel in light aircraft, involving occasionalovernight absences and work outside of the normal hours ofwork.You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, orprovide evidence that you hold a valid working visa that allowsyou to work in Australia without restrictions.Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will berequired to obtain a National Police Check.Prior to being employed, the successful applicant will berequired to provide a Department of Human Services (DHS)working with children check (WWCC) which is required to berenewed every five years before expiry. [DEW will cover thecost of renewal].A current class "C" driver's licence andwillingness and ability to safely operate a 4wd isessential.Wearing a company uniform during working hours and / or whenrepresenting the department is mandatory.Remuneration :
Competitive salary - MAS3 $127,859 per annum, plus 12%superannuation, and recreation leave loading. Total package valueapproximately $143,000 per annum. Additional attraction allowancemay be negotiable for the right candidate.
