Position: Casual Planetarium Program Officer, Brisbane City Council — Community Facilities, Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium


Work type: Casual


Salary: (Band 4) $86,107 – $92,436 per annum + 25% casual loading + superannuation


Hourly rate: $45.68 per hour + 25% casual loading + superannuation


Remuneration stated is for full-time positions.

Responsibilities
  • As a casual Planetarium Program Officer, you will be part of the team on an ongoing casually rostered basis, to assist in the development and delivery of astronomy programs, pre-recorded shows, visual presentations and hands-on demonstrations to the visiting public and school groups.
  • Well-developed research and presentation skills.
  • Public speaking to a broad audience with the ability to communicate an advanced general knowledge of astronomy in simple, engaging ways.
  • Excellent customer service skills that can be easily adapted to a wide range of customers.

If you genuinely enjoy interacting with people of all ages in a customer facing role, being a helpful point of contact to customers and addressing their queries, this role is for you.


Desirable experience: work experience in the STEM or education sectors and/or skills in coding, digital content creation or visual arts.


This role requires a Criminal History Check and valid Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
