About Our School

St James Primary School Coorparoo is a co-educational Catholic school with an enrolment of over 130 students. Our school is a small, warm, and welcoming community that strongly values inclusivity, high-quality teaching and learning, and partnerships between staff, parents, and students. About The Opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a student with additional needs, fostering engagement and participation in classroom activities
• Assisting with the planning, preparation and delivery of effective learning and teaching programs for students including the use technology and learning support activities
• Monitoring the progress of students and identifing learning areas to provide evidence-based intervention strategies
• Improving student learning outcomes by providing support and advice on supporting students with diverse learning needs
• Collaborating with school specialists in organising and assisting with intervention groups to coordinate services
• Documenting observation notes, intervention programs and assist in the collation and preparation of classroom materials.
• Training and support will be provided to ensure that you will be able to support the student.
  
  

About You

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

• Experience supporting students with disability or diverse learning needs (formal or informal experience welcomed)
• Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to building trust and rapport
• Strong skills in planning, preparing, and delivering effective teaching programs
• Ability to monitor student progress and apply evidence-based interventions
• Expertise in supporting diverse learning needs to improve student outcomes
• Collaborative skills to work with specialists and coordinate intervention groups
• Proficient in documenting observations, managing intervention programs, and preparing classroom materials
• Certificate III in Education Support
• For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
• Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
