Perth, Western Australia RAC WA Full time
Overview

As a Control and Assurance Analyst, you will be designing and developing controls to address core distributor obligations arising from agreements and overseeing control testing to ensure adherence to required standards. The role also delivers reporting on assurance outcomes to evidence compliance and highlight opportunities for improvement or remediation.

This is a 12-month opportunity.

What will you be doing?
  • Leading the process for identifying, measuring, recording, and reporting control gaps, while assessing associated risks and ensuring their timely and effective remediation.
  • Ensuring assurance activities and controls are clearly defined, developed, and implemented to meet requirements, including alignment with internal policies, endorsed RAC frameworks, and regulatory standards.
  • Supporting the mapping, evaluation, and development of control frameworks to strengthen existing practices and meet requirements.
  • Documenting agreed processes, maintaining control registers, and ensuring documentation, testing outcomes, and assurance findings remain current and reflective of business practices.
  • Conducting independent assurance reviews to evaluate compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, while facilitating reviews to assess and document controls, objectives, and testing steps.
  • Identifying and monitoring changes in the regulatory environment to ensure controls and assurance activities remain appropriate and effective.
  • Assisting the team with other duties as required, contributing to broader organisational objectives.
What are we looking for in you?
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CISA, or an equivalent qualification is desirable, demonstrating a strong technical foundation in assurance, audit, and risk management practices.
  • Proven experience in internal controls, assurance, audit, or risk management, with the ability to apply this expertise to strengthen governance and compliance outcomes.
  • Industry knowledge gained from working within insurance, financial services, or a similarly regulated environment, enabling effective navigation of complex obligations.
  • Technical proficiency in control testing methodologies and assurance reporting, with the capability to evaluate control effectiveness, evidence compliance, and recommend improvements.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills that allow you to interpret complex information, influence decision-making, and build trusted relationships.
  • Attention to detail and a methodical approach to assessing risks, documenting processes, and delivering consistent and accurate assurance outcomes.
  • Resilience and adaptability to perform in a high-paced environment, meeting operational working hours, managing tight deadlines, and accommodating reasonable overtime when required.
What can we offer you?
  • A workplace culture where people feel valued, respected, and empowered, with a strong focus on inclusion and collaboration.
  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements that support work–life balance and employee wellbeing.
  • A purpose-led organisation that reinvests in the WA community and delivers meaningful social impact.
  • An environment that supports career development through learning opportunities, training, and progression pathways.
  • Free Roadside Assistance along with discounts on RAC products and services including Holiday Parks and Resorts, Security, Finance, Auto Services, and Insurance.
  • Opportunities to engage in community initiatives and participate in corporate volunteering programs.
  • A strong commitment to employee wellbeing, including access to mental health support, wellness initiatives, and lifestyle benefits.
