The RoleAs the Senior Gardener - Handyperson, you would work to provide gardening, grounds and facility management to ensure a safe and clean school environment. You should ideally maintain and present the school grounds and gardens in an attractive, clean and tidy condition, and provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management.
The successful applicant should have experience in servicing horticultural, gardening and cleaning equipment and performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as those on irrigation systems, minor plumbing tasks, maintenance, carpentry tasks and assisting with the setup of school events as well as other Gardener - Handyperson duties in accordance with the Department's policies and guidelines.
The successful applicant will ideally have good interpersonal and communication skills to maintain accurate gardening records and manage staff performance. You should ideally have strong leadership skills to supervise tasks performed by the Assistant Gardeners and provide advice and support to the Manager Corporate Services on school grounds maintenance.
In this role, you will ideally have a passion for the outdoors and an ability to lead staff as you work with team members to create and maintain a clean, tidy, safe, and enjoyable outdoor environment for staff, students, and the community.
