Do you thrive in a fast-paced mining environment with a strong focus on safety and production targets? You could be our next Pit Patroller at one of Rio's largest Pilbara Iron Operations.
What you'll do- Collaborate closely with Central Control to ensure the safety and efficiency of pit operations; act as the eyes of the pit in surveying and refining roads and locations.
- Respond to AHS faults, work with mobile plant operators to proactively manage pit conditions, and support supervisors with leadership duties as needed.
- Survey and refine roads, dumps and locations to ensure safe and efficient haulage; manage critical areas such as crusher, fuel bay and park up locations; ensure dumping and dig locations are secured and demarcated when not in use.
- Assist Dig unit operators in improving spot times, monitor windrow heights, post blast inspections, demarcation and Pit signage duties; assist with hot-seating plans and transporting pit personnel safely.
- Provide training to team members and actively engage in continuous improvement initiatives.
- A commitment to safety for yourself and your team
- An Australian C Class manual drivers' licence or higher
- Ability to work safely and cooperatively in a team; flexibility to changing business requirements
- Residence in WA
- Proof of permanent Australian residency with full working rights (no sponsorship needed)
- Permanent position working directly for Rio Tinto
- Fly direct to site from Perth, Busselton, Albany, Geraldton or Broome on an 8 days on / 6 days off roster
