Job Description
Looking for a career change? We would love to hear from you Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided, so we strongly encourage people with any operational, manufacturing, or technical background to apply—such as healthcare workers, laboratory technicians, tradespeople, process operators, and similar roles.
Reporting to the Tasmania Operations Manager, our Operators are an essential part of our operations team—responsible for the safe handling and storage of fuel products, and facilitating operational, maintenance, and product quality activities. Collaboration and communication are also essential for the safe and efficient operation of the terminal.
This is a full-time role with working days Monday to Friday, with some additional hours outside of these when shipments arrive in the evenings, on weekends, or public holidays.
Responsibilities
- Share safety knowledge and understand that 'safety comes first'.
- Actively participate in HSSE activities such as safety meetings, hazard identifications, work insights, and emergency response planning.
- Implement operational procedures safely and efficiently.
- Complete monitoring, sampling, and testing of fuel and fueling equipment.
- Use the company management systems.
- Provide safe access to plant and equipment via work clearances, gas testing, permitting, and isolations.
- Conduct surveillance and inspections, support preventative, follow-on, and reactive work orders using JDE maintenance management system.
- Perform basic maintenance and housekeeping duties related to operational areas.
- Support maintenance and project work, ensuring safe and efficient interface between operational and project/maintenance activities.
- Perform other operational activities as required by the Terminal Manager.
Qualifications
- Demonstrate a commitment to HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) and a desire to work and contribute to a high-performing team.
- Care about people, be dependable, detail-oriented, and apply innovative problem-solving skills.
- Show curiosity about operations or technology, with a track record of ownership and delivering on promises.
- Have a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, good communication skills, and a positive, flexible attitude.
