About the role

Devonport Community House is seeking a motivated and experienced Manager to lead our vibrant Community House. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, managing a team of staff and volunteers, and driving the strategic direction of the organisation to best serve the local Devonport community.

What you'll be doing

Manage the overall operations and administration of the community house, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery

Oversee the recruitment, training, and management of staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality programs and activities

Develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and procedures to align with the organisation's mission and vision

Liaise with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and funding bodies, to secure resources and partnerships

Identify and respond to the evolving needs of the local community, developing new initiatives and programs to address these needs

Manage the community house's budget, financial records, and reporting requirements

Represent the community house at various events, meetings, and forums to promote its services and achievements

What we're looking for

Extensive experience in community development, social services, or a related field

High level of knowledge and skills in all areas of computer software operation (Microsoft Suite)

Proven track record in leading and managing a team, preferably in a community-based organisation

Strong understanding of the issues and challenges faced by disadvantaged individuals and communities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders

Demonstrated project management and budgeting skills, with the ability to ensure efficient and effective use of resources

Tertiary or Diploma qualifications in a relevant field, such as Social Work, Community Development or Business Management.

Current WWVP card and National Police Check or the ability to attain one.
