Employment Type: Permanent Full Time, 38 hours per week. Position Classification: Interpreter Grade 1-3. Remuneration: $56,110 - $83,094 per annum + Superannuation. Location: Sydney Health Care Interpreter Services (location negotiable). Requisition ID: REQ600855.

The Staff Health Care Interpreter provides high quality professional health care interpreting and/or translation services to facilitate communication between health care providers and patients in certified and/or assessed and approved language/s to support equity and access to health care services for patients/clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds or the Deaf community.

Ideal Candidate
  • NAATI Certification when the language is certified by NAATI; or Recognition if certification is not available.
  • Demonstrated capacity to interpret in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to identify and convey the social and cultural factors affecting health care to ensure high quality performance.
  • Ability to identify ethical dilemmas and to deal with them in compliance with AUSIT Code of Ethics.
  • Current NSW driver licence (P1 and P2 acceptable) and willingness to travel.
