Job Description

About the role

Reporting to the Maintenance Services Superintendent, the Mechanical Supervisor will lead and support a team of mechanical trades and apprentices. This role is crucial in executing mechanical maintenance tasks to enhance plant reliability and achieve operational excellence at our world-class coal terminal.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Lead, manage, and mentor a team of mechanical trades and apprentices.
  2. Monitor performance and manage costs effectively.
  3. Plan resources and supervise tasks.
  4. Implement maintenance strategies and drive continuous improvements.
  5. Collaborate within and outside the team, managing conflicts effectively.

The Mechanical Supervisor role works a daywork roster, four days a week, 10.5-hour shifts, alternating between Monday to Thursday and Tuesday to Friday each week.

We are looking for someone with:

  1. Mechanical trade qualifications with post-trade qualifications in engineering, project management or maintenance techniques highly regarded.
  2. Experience in mechanical maintenance, planning, and scheduling practices, with experience using computerised maintenance management systems.
  3. Proven leadership experience in a maintenance management environment, with a track record of managing multiple tasks simultaneously and pursuing improvement projects through collaboration to achieve results.
  4. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey information effectively and inspire action.
